Widely used in villas, star hotels ,office buildings and houses
The 2 1/2", 3 1/2" & 4 1/2" louver sizes are shown below and can be used as a guide to see how they compare against each other when looking through them.
Full Height Shutters (Traditional)
Full height shutters are sometimes known as 'Traditional Shutters' when selected with 32mm louvres.
When used with the larger louvres ( 63.5mm,88.9mm and 114mm) They are often referred to as 'Colonial Shutters' or 'Plantation Shutters'.
When the panel height exceeds 1,800mm* a mid or 'intermediate rail' is used to strengthen and stop the panels from twisting. When an mid rail is incorporated in the panel the louvres above and below the mid rail can be operated independently, giving greater flexibility to lighting and privacy as can be seen in the picture on the right.
Tier-on-Tier shutters allows for either the top or bottom half to swing open independently. Thus allowing full light to enter through the desired sections. This style is often chosen for large Edwardian and Victorian town houses where privacy and accessible light are required.
Café Shutters (Half Height)
Cafe style shutters originated from as the name suggests French Café's, where maximum light was required but still preserving the privacy of the occupants.
Cafe style shutters can often be seen in kitchens or living rooms
